Adaptive Outdoor Adventures Archery - OR18041610

Adaptive outdoor adventures is a collaboration between the Therapeutic and Outdoor Recreation programs at Asheville Parks and Recreation. Activities are offered 1-2 times per month on evening and weekends. Most programs are accessible to anyone who would like to participate assuming they meet the essential eligibility criteria. Please call 828-232-4529 for more information.

Space may be limited based on the activity being offered. Preregistration is required for all programs.

Registration ends 1 week before the program. For late registration please call 828-232-4529 to inquire about availability.
Come join us for a 4 week series to learn the basics of archery. This will be an introductory archery workshop geared toward individuals with limited to no experience in the sport. Classes will be one hour each week.

TR Adapted Bowling Fall 2018 - TR18041603

Adapted Bowling
October 20-December 15
(No games on November 17 and December 1)
Saturdays, 12-2pm
For ages 6 and up. A 6-week bowling program for persons with different abilities. Games will be adapted as needed with ramps and bumpers. A non-competitive league, with the focus on FUN! Registration begins September 10.
Location: Sky Lanes
Fee: $75 (Asheville City residents receive a $5 discount!)

For All Therapeutic Recreation Events/Activities

You can reach the TR Program staff at (828) 232-4529 or trprogram@ashevillenc.gov. All activities, events, and programs are specifically for individuals who meet the following eligibility requirements:

· Must be able to work in a group setting.
· Ability to follow program rules, converse with others in a respectful manner, respect personal space of others.
· Maintain personal care needs independently (including administering medication, toileting, and eating).
· Able to understand basic communication (making needs/wants known).
· Demonstrate basic social skills (interact with peers).
· Must not have a history of violence against themselves or others.
The LRT/CTRS is unable to provide one-on-one supervision, however we will try to meet each participants needs. If participant does not meet eligibility requirements, they can participant in programming if they have their own support staff.

TR Dinner Club Fall 2018 - TR18041607

Dining Club
September-December, 3rd Wednesday of Each Month, 5:30-7pm
Social event designed for adults 18 and older, with or without disabilities. Enjoy the tastes of Asheville while making new friends! RSVP by 4pm the day of the meal.
Location: Various Restaurants throughout Asheville
Fee: Participants cover own cost for meals.
